Bexar County Deputy on administrative leave after arrest on assault charge
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A Bexar County Deputy has been arrested on family assault charges.
A release from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office states that they were called to a home in the 12300 block of Claiborne Street at around 6:30 Monday morning.
They arrested 31-year-old Mark Anthony Plata on a charge of assault bodily injury to a family/household.
Details on the charges haven’t been released but Sheriff Javier Salazar released the following statement:
“Domestic violence in any setting should never be tolerated, but especially in law-enforcement. This young man accepted this job knowing we have a high standard, so the consequences of his actions should not come as a surprise to him.”
Plata, who has been with the BCSO for 4 years was placed on unpaid administrative leave while an investigation is conducted.
