Bexar County Deputy’s patrol vehicle catches fire during traffic stop

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A Bexar County Deputy wasn’t hurt but his patrol vehicle is a total loss after it caught fire Wednesday morning.

The deputy was making a traffic stop on Wood Glen at around 4 A.M.

A second deputy pulled up to help and noticed that there was smoke coming from the first deputy’s vehicle.

It wasn’t long before the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.

Turns out a box of road flares was the culprit but the cause of the spark that ignited them is still under investigation.

The fire didn’t just destroy the patrol vehicle. Some other cars parked nearby have some damage as well.

No injuries were reported.
