Bexar County fire kills several pets, damages home and cars

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Converse fire crews battled a house fire that killed several animals and damaged three cars in an unincorporated part of Bexar County Monday morning.

The Converse Fire Department — which has a contract to provide fire services to this part of the county — said crews found three cars on fire and the garage area on fire when they arrived.

All of the residents of the house are accounted for and were able to save part of the home.  However, firefighters found several unresponsive pets in the house and were unable to resuscitate them.

The investigation into the fire is ongoing.
