Bexar County Medical Examiner releases name of woman found stabbed to death at South Side home
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Bexar County Medical Examiner has released the name of a woman found stabbed to death at a South Side residence.
San Antonio police were called to do a welfare check on a woman at around 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say they were called to do the welfare check after family members told them 41-year-old Stephanie Mendoza had gone to the home by herself and hasn’t been heard from for several hours.
When they arrived in the 100 block of Division Avenue, they found Mendoza, dead from multiple stab wounds.
Also in the home was 52-year-old James Mendoza. Police found him with self-inflicted wounds to his chest and wrists. He was brought to a hospital and is expected to recover. He’s also been charged with murder.
Police say they don’t know what led up to the stabbing but they are continuing thier investigation.
