Bexar County Medical Examiner: Ride share driver hit in Northwest Side shootout dies

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — An Uber driver who got caught in the crossfire during a gunfight Monday morning has died.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner says 62-year-old Robert Renteria passed away in the hospital.
Renteria had a passenger in the backseat of his car at around 12:30 a.m. Monday when someone started shooting.
The shooter was aiming at the passenger, who returned fire. Renteria was hit in the back during the gunfight.
When police arrived at the scene on Anchor Drive, they found Renteria, but the passenger and the shooter were gone.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have information on the shooting to call the SAPD at 210-207-7273.
