Bexar County Officials are prepared for Election Day

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Election Day is Tuesday and the Bexar County Elections Department says they are ready.

The Department has made is easier for the more than 1 million registered voters in the County to cast their ballots.

Unlike years past, you’ll be able to vote at any of the 284 voting centers. Even the centers that are outside of your district.

This is also the first year for the 2,500 new touchscreen voting machines which allows voters to cast an electronic ballot which will be printed out on paper once you submit your final vote.

When early voting wrapped up on Friday, more than 42,000 voters had taken part in the process. That number will likely exceed 50,000 once the mail-in votes are counted.

“Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, so the more prepared voters are, the smoother the process will go,” said Bexar County Elections Administrators Jacque Callanen. “We were very pleased with the turnout for the early vote, but anticipate many additional voters will cast their ballots, tomorrow,” finished Callanen.
