Bexar County Sheriff: Man barricades himself in Northwest Side home for several hours after girlfriend accuses him of assault
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man accused of beating his girlfriend, then barricading himself inside a home for several hours has been arrested.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office reports they were called to a home off Boerne Stage Road at around 3 p.m. Sunday.
The woman who called for help said that her boyfriend had choked her before she was able to escape the home with her 3 children.
The boyfriend, identified as 35-year-old Hector Martinez, refused to leave the home.
Deputies were on the scene for several hours, trying to convince Martinez to give himself up.
He eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.
He’s been charged with Assault – Choking Strangulation, Continuous Family Violence, two counts of Unlawful Restraint, and two misdemeanor warrants for assault out of Atascosa County.
