Bexar County Sheriff Salazar: Applicant for cadet program arrested after child porn reportedly found on their phone

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — For the second time this summer, a cadet applicant for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested on accusations of possession of child pornography.
According to FOX 29, Sheriff Javier Salazar says it was during a background check that the images were found on the applicant’s phone.
Salazar says the applicant gave investigators consent to look though his phone.
The 22-year-old was placed under arrest but their name hasn’t been released.
The Sheriff says this is the second time since June that a cadet applicant has been arrested for having child pornography on their phone.
They are both facing state charges with the possibility of federal charges as well.
