Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy charged for conducting illegal strip searches

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A Bexar County deputy is being charged with illegally strip searching six females.

49 year old Floyd Berry, a Patrol Deputy with the Sheriff’s Office is facing three misdemeanor counts of official oppression for searches conducted from Nov. 24 through Dec. 4.

An investigation was launched after several victims made complaints to the Office’s Internal Affairs Unit.

It was discovered that Berry conducted unlawful strip searches on six female inmates while he was on duty at the Bexar County Jail.

He was placed on administrative leave and is being served with a proposed termination.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Internal Affairs and Public Integrity Unit are conducting investigations.
