BCSO: Preschool teacher arrested, charged with abusing 3 students in classroom

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A local pre-school teacher accused of roughing up a few students is under arrest.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office released a statement on the arrest of Alfredo Marmolejo.

Investigators say the Excelled Montessori Preschool teacher was seen on surveillance video grabbing a two-year-old child by the arm, pointing his finger at the child’s face, dragging the child by the arm, picking up the child, and then aggressively slamming the child down onto a chair.

BCSO also says the video shows Marmolejo slapping a two-year-old child on the back of the head with his hand, causing the child to fall to the floor. Marmolejo is also accused of walking into a third student, causing the child to fall down, hitting their head on a table in the process. Investigator say the video then shows Marmolejo yelling at the first child while he kicks several objects across the floor.

The students are all 2-years-old.

During the investigation, Marmolejo reportedly told officials he “did not think what happened in the classroom was that bad” and that “his emotions got the best of him.”

Marmolejo was taken into custody on three counts of injury to a child, then transported to the Bexar County Jail to be booked on his warrants.

BCSO is asking anyone who may have more information to call them at 210-335-6000.
