Bexar County Sheriff’s Office releases dash cam video from deputy involved pedestrian crash
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has released dash cam video of a pedestrian crash involving a deputy.
The crash happened September 7, when Patrol Deputy Benjamin Jaramillo was pursuing a Dodge Charger after noticing the vehicle had what appeared to be a phony temporary license plate.
Jaramillo tried to get the vehicle to stop, but the driver sped off, heading down Eisenhauer Road and turning onto the I-35 access road.
It was during the chase that Jaramillo lost control of his patrol vehicle and struck a pedestrian who was standing near the intersection.
The chase was canceled as Jaramillo stayed with the pedestrian until help arrived.
The 57-year-old man was brought to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
In accordance with BCSO policies, Deputy Jaramillo was placed on administrative duty during the investigation.
Jaramillo has been with BCSO for 2 years.
