Bexar County Sheriff’s Office: Two killed in high-speed crash on Highway 16 in South Bexar County

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in South Bexar County Monday afternoon.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened in the Northbound lanes of Highway 16 near Smith Road at around 5:30.

Deputies were told that one of the vehicles was speeding along the highway when it hit the second vehicle.

The impact killed both people who were in the second vehicle. Their names haven’t been released but BCSO says they were pronounced dead at the scene.

No word on the condition of the driver in the first vehicle.

The crash caused the closure of Northbound Highway 16 while the crash was investigated.
