Bibliotech Partners With VIA

Bibliotech is on the “grow” again–and this time you can take something to read to “go.”

It’s all thanks to a newly announced partnership with VIA.

“We call it ride and read” VIA President and CEO Jeffrey Arndt told KTSA News, adding “We are installing kiosks at six key locations throughout our system.”

From there, Arndt said things couldn’t be simpler.

“You simply browse, select books for your e-reader, they download on to your e-reader, you get on the bus and ride” Arndt said.

You can also sign up for a Bibliotech card through the kiosks. All Bexar County residents are eligible for one.

“One of the benefits in fact of riding transit is you have the opportunity to use the time for your ride for whatever purpose you like. What greater purpose than to become better informed… and, take some time off and read” Arndt said.

In the end, Arndt said such a partnership makes for a better-connected community.

“Not only the physical connection of riding the bus–but, over the connection of the (information) super highway to all of these materials” Arndt said.
