Biden’s infrastructure efforts blunted by middle east conflict
DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) – President Joe Biden’s efforts to spotlight big infrastructure plans are being overshadowed by the escalating violence between Israel and the Palestinians.
The ongoing conflict sparked protests during his visit to a Ford electric vehicle center in Michigan yesterday – as the White House faces growing pressure to step in.
Biden, was at a Ford plant in Dearborn to build Republican support for his $2.3 trillion infrastructure package.
But the event was overshadowed by the Middle East conflict, especially since Dearborn is a city that is almost half Arab American.
In the Middle East conflict, the Biden administration has been conducting what it calls quiet diplomacy while declining to press for an immediate cease-fire by close ally Israel and Hamas.
