Big Employer Expected to Move in to Southside

Big news for the southside of town.

TJX Companies Inc, the parent company of TJ Maxx is planning a new 150 million dollar distribution center near the Mission Espada site.

Jenna Saucedo Herrera at the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation says the company will bring 1,000 new jobs to the area complete with 401k’s and health insurance plans.

Saucedo-Herrera says the company has already made an impact in the area, donating several acres of land to Southside ISD for their new facility.

The distribution center should be opening in 2018.
