Big Upgrade for CPS Energy Payment System

By Bill O’Neil

If you need to make a payment on your CPS Energy bill, you’ll need to get it done by 8 PM Thursday–or else you’ll be waiting until Tuesday Morning.

It’s all the result of a big system upgrade that will begin Thursday Night–and continue through the Memorial Day Weekend.

“This upgrade is important for us because it’s going to help us meet the needs of our customers–not onlyt he needs–but the expectations going in tot he future” Nora Castro with CPS Energy told KTSA News.

The upgrade affects all payment options, whether by phone, online, or through a pay location such as HEB, Chase, Walgreen’s, Western Union or Woodforest National Bank.

Castro said the upgrade will not affect how you report, or how the utility responds to an emergency.

“Our crews will be available for any gas or electric emergency, so customers can still call if they have an emergency. Crews will be ready to handle those situations” Castro said.

The payment system should be up and running again by 7 AM Tuesday Morning.
