Bill Miller, other San Antonio restaurant roast Whataburger over recent sale
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — One San Antonio food chain is taking shots at another on social media all because of a recent business dealing.
Bill Miller Bar-B-Q posted on its Facebook page an image of someone holding a tea in front of the Alamo with the following statement: “Don’t worry, San Antonio! We’re from here and have been family owned and operated since 1953. That’s the way it is, and that’s the way it will always be. -Bill”
Whataburger announced Friday it had sold a majority interest in its operations to investment firm BDT Capital Partners and has been derided online for selling out to a company in Chicago.
Whataburger has been on the defensive after the announcement, stating it will always be Texan and will continue to be headquartered in San Antonio.
