Bleachers collapse at Kendall County Fair, 8 in hospital

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — An investigation is underway after a section of bleachers collapsed at the Kendall County Fair.

The Kendall County Office of Emergency Management confirms eight people were taken to the hospital and four others were treated at the scene. The collapse happened around 9:15 p.m. Saturday night during a rodeo at the Kendall County Fairgrounds.

KENS 5 reports as many as 20 people may have fallen through the bleachers.

Saturday was opening night for the fair, but all events have been discontinued until the City of Boerne does an inspection of the rodeo grounds to ensure public safety.
