SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — There’s another Blue Bell ice cream recall. This time it’s due to possible contamination by bits of plastic.

The voluntary recall for half-gallons of its Butter Crunch Ice Cream flavor that were produced in August at the Blue Bell plant in Sylacauga, Alabama.

They became aware of the problem when a customer reported a piece of plastic had turned up in a container of the ice cream.

The problem was traced to a broken tool at the Alabama plant.

The Butter Crunch Ice Cream half gallons produced in Sylacauga can be identified by the following code located on the top of the packaging lid: 082621222.
