SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Border patrol agents say they have intercepted hard narcotics worth over $500,000 at the border in Laredo.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the seizure happened last Friday at the Juarez-Lincoln International Bridge when they did a second search on a 2013 Ford Escape driven by a 41-year-old person from San Diego.

Agents were able to find 10 packages containing 13 pounds of what they believe is heroin and eight packages containing 17 pounds of what they believe is cocaine.

The office said the narcotics have an estimated street value of $504,560.

Officers seized the drugs and SUV.  The driver was arrested and the case has been turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations.
