Brad Simpson’s business partner gets bond reduction, wife missing more than a month
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A business partner of a husband whose wife has been missing for over a month is getting a bond reduction.
James Cotter was arrested on October 22, just over two weeks after Suzanne Simpson went missing. Police believe she had been in a fight with her husband, Brad Simpson, before she went missing October 7.
Cotter is facing two felony counts related to hiding an illegal firearm belonging to Brad Simpson.
Cotter’s bonds totaled $1 million dollars, but a judge has reduced that total to $100,000, according to KSAT 12. If Cotter posts bond, he will have to wear a GPS tracking monitor.
Brad Simpson was arrested October 9 and charged with family violence and unlawful restraint after neighbors reported a conflict between the couple the night before the mother of four was reported missing. Witnesses also say the two had been in a fight earlier that night at a dinner club in Alamo Heights. Also facing a gun charge, Brad has a $3 million bond and he is on a federal detainer.
Investigators say Brad is not cooperating with the investigation.
Suzanne remains missing and there has been no sign of her after multiple searches.
