Congressman Kevin Brady called it the last act of this Congress.
The Funding Bill–keeping the federal government running through the end of April–has passed.
“It also includes some important funding provision for Texas, including our flooding,” he said.
He pointed specifically to the flooding around Tax Day.
“In this bill is help for our communities and families totally, between that and our September bill, about $228M to help our communities and neighborhoods recover,” he said.
But there’s more: the funding bill included the Cures Act which includes a provision Brady fought for.
It “ensures that MD Anderson, which is the world’s leading cancer center, and the ten cancer centers around the country, aren’t cut, aren’t facing dramatic Medicare cuts, because this is where the new discoveries occur,” Brady said.
