Busy San Antonio intersection to be closed this weekend

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A major northwest side intersection is going to be closed for a paving project this weekend.

TxDOT says Bandera Road at 1604 will be closed to traffic starting at 9 P.M Friday.

Crews are going to work on the project through the weekend and traffic will again be going through the intersection by 5 A.M. Monday.

The main lanes of Loop 1604 will still be open but a detour will be set up for the north and south lanes at the intersection for motorist on Bandera Road.

Electronic message boards and off duty officers will be on the scene to help direct drivers to the detours.

TxDOT says the best plan is to avoid the area until the project is completed Monday morning.
