Busy Year for DPS

29 fugitives were captured through the Texas Department of Public Safety’s 10 Most Wanted Program in 2015.

Sgt. Jason Reyes with DPS says they managed to arrest 29 fugitives through the program including a record 20 sex offenders.

Reyes gives a lot of credit to citizens. He says their vigilance helped bring the fugitives to justice.

He says they received calls through the tip line and even got help through social media.

Those who did help with information leading to the arrests got something in return. Reyes says they paid out $79,000 dollars for anonymous tips.
