Car owner shoots thief during carjacking attempt on San Antonio’s North side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — An attempted car jacking on San Antonio’s North side ends with one man in the hospital.

Police were called to the QuickTrip location in the 9900 block of San Pedro Tuesday afternoon.

That’s where a man was filling his car with gas and was approached by another man in a truck.

The man in the truck got out of his vehicle and into the driver’s seat of the car that was being refueled.

He tried to drive off but the car owner jumped into the passenger seat and began fighting with the man.

At some point the car owner pulled a gun and shot the thief several times.

The owner wasn’t hurt but the carjacker was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

No word on any charges as police are still investigating.
