Car theft leads to a stand off on San Antonio’s north side

UPDATE 2:22 p.m.:

San Antonio police have identified four of the suspects as 20-year-old David Guerra, 42-year-old Nathaniel Whaley, 21-year-old Ashley Pelaez, and 19-year-old Bleu Delarosa.  All four have been charged with aggravated robbery.

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — San Antonio police officers were involved in a brief standoff with several people this morning.

Officers were called to the Westmount at Cape Cod Apartments at around 5 A.M.

A 17 year old called police to report that he had gone to the apartment complex on Blanco Road to meet a woman.

What happened next was anything but a romantic rendezvous.

The teenager was beaten up and held against his will while the people in the apartment stole his wallet and keys and took his car for a joyride.

Police arrived on the scene and while three of the occupants in the apartment came outside, the remaining three did not.

Officers prepared for a long stand off and about an hour later, the remaining three surrendered. All six people, three men and three women were taken into custody.

Nobody was injured during the standoff.

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — San Antonio police officers were involved in a brief standoff  on the North Side this morning.

Officers were called to the Westmount at Cape Cod Apartments at around 5 A.M Thursday.

They were working on a stolen vehicle complaint which lead them to the Blanco Road apartment complex.

Some of the car thieves were in one of the apartments. They refused to come out but eventually a woman and two men gave themselves up.

Three other people connected to the theft were taken into custody .

Nobody was injured during the standoff.
