Castle Hills Police: Former Churchill High School teacher accused of having “inappropriate” relationship with student is arrested

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — He’s out of a job and in jail for having an “inappropriate” relationship with a 15-year-old.

Castle Hills police say Jon Ghirst was taken into custody Tuesday night and has resigned from his teaching job at Churchill High School.

He’s been charged with a third-degree felony.

Investigators say the abuse began in November of 2023.

Northeast ISD sent out a statement about the case claiming they were first aware of the allegations against Ghrist back in June and began investigating.

Ghrist was arrested at his home without incident.

The victim’s family is cooperating with investigators who are asking other students who may have been affected to speak out.
