Castro brothers set to endorse Nirenberg in re-election bid

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Incumbent San Antonio mayor Ron Nirenberg will be getting two more endorsements this weekend in his bid for another term as mayor.
The endorsements come after the Texas Democratic Party made the unusual move to endorse a candidate in the legally nonpartisan municipal election.
The Nirenberg campaign said San Antonio congressman Joaquin Castro and former San Antonio mayor — and current 2020 presidential candidate — Julian Castro will be endorsing the current mayor.
The runoff election is set for June 8th with early voting starting May 28th.
