Castro brothers’ stepmother dies from COVID-19

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Congressman Joaquin Castro announced via social media early Friday that his stepmother died of COVID-19.
He said Alice Guzman and his father were married for 31 years.
“Alice was a warm, loving person and we’ll miss her incredibly,” Castro posted on Twitter. “My heart goes out to the families who’ve lost loved ones to this terrible illness.”
The congressman’s twin brother, former San Antonio Mayor and ex-HUD Secretary Julian Castro wrote on his brother’s tweet,”May she Rest in Peace.”
San Antonio Metro Health announced Thursday that the number of coronavirus-related deaths had reached 165.
