Castro denounces Trump rally in video from Eagle Pass
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Former San Antonio mayor Julian Castro, who is also a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, has released a campaign video of him denouncing President Donald Trump’s rally in El Paso.
In the video, Castro stands at the border crossing from Eagle Pass into Piedras Negras saying that Americans do not want a border wall. He also stated that El Paso, McAllen and Eagle Pass are among the safest in the country.
He selected that location because his grandmother came across the border in 1922 through Eagle Pass before settling in San Antonio. The former HUD secretary also celebrated the fact that his brother, Joaquin, is a congressman and he is a candidate for president.
“We can have a nation of laws and a nation of immigrants,” Castro said in the video.
