Castro says Americans will look back and ask ‘what in the hell’ was wrong with President Trump

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Presidential hopeful Julian Castro is attacking president Trump for saying he would accept opposition research from a foreign government on a political opponent.

The former San Antonio mayor said during a town hall on Fox News that in ten or twenty years “we’re going to look back on this as Americans, not Republicans or Democrats or liberals or conservatives, and say ‘what the hell was wrong with that President.'”

A woman in the audience asked Castro if he thinks there’s a crisis on the border. He replied that  we have a crisis of leadership.

“When he came into office, Donald Trump said that he was going to solve, as he put it, this immigration problem and he’s completely failed,” said Castro.

The former HUD Secretary talked about his own immigration plan, which would put undocumented immigrants already in the United States who have not committed serious crimes on a path to citizenship.

About the current tensions between the United States and Iran, Castro said,”they (Trump administration) seem to be hellbent on moving us toward war with Iran.”

Fox News town hall co-host Bret Baier asked Castro about “twingate,” the time his twin brother, Joaquin, rode a barge carrying city council members in the Fiesta River Parade in Julian’s place.

“We’re told in San Antonio you fooled some people one time because you switched places, so I want to make sure after our town hall that’s very substantive, that you are not Joaquin,” said Baier.

Castro jokingly replied, “If I were my brother, I’d be a little big uglier.”
