SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — They won’t be sending Harry Potter fans off to Azkaban but the popular books have been banned from the library of a Catholic school in Tennessee.

Reverend Dan Reehill at St. Edwards Catholic School in Nashville says the books could cause a reader to conjure evil spirits.

He consulted with exorcists before deciding to remove all Harry Potter books from the library.

Reehil wrote in an email that, “The curses and spells used in the books are actual curses and spells; which when read by a human being risk conjuring evil spirits into the presence of the person reading the text.”
