Charging electric car suspected in Northwest Side fire

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – An electric car charging in the garage of a Northwest Side home may have sparked an electrical fire this morning.

It started after 4 this morning in the garage of the home on Bee Cave, and when the first crews arrived, there was more smoke than fire.

“The cause is most likely an overloaded electric outlet that sparked a small fire,” said Woody Woodward with the San Antonio Fire Department.

In addition to the electric car, an aquarium also was plugged in.

No one was injured, and firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading.
