City of San Antonio opens cooling centers to help residents beat the heat

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Heat indexes are predicted to range from 100 to 103 degrees this week and you may be looking for a place to chill.

The City of San Antonio is operating cooling centers to help you cope with the high temperatures throughout this week.

The centers provide residents a place keep out of the heat and prevent heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Children 4 years and younger and the elderly, those 65 and older are at higher risk of heat-related illnesses. The danger increases if you have an existing medical condition or no access to air conditioning.
