City Taking Up Idling Rules

The City of San Antonio is about to follow Bexar County is adopting anti-idling laws.

City Councilman Ron Nirenberg says the city needs to get into compliance with federal air quality standards and this would be a first step towards making that happen.

The laws wouldn’t impact the average motorists, just operators of large vehicles.

Nirenberg tells us several trucking companies are cracking down on long term idling as a way to save money.
