Back to work for the United States Congress this week–and things will be getting busy pretty quickly on Capitol Hill.
“Well the Ways and Means Committee that I lead is going to have huge responsibilities,” Congressman Kevin Brady said. “Wednesday, we’ll be tackling how we can improve the quality of hospital care for Medicare patients, our seniors.”
“Our health panel will be taking a hard look at whether existing Medicare policies actually encourage hospitals to deliver high quality, cost effective care,” he said.
But, he said, Congress must also protect taxpayer dollars.
“Next week, we’ll also be looking at unemployment insurance,” he said. “This important program should be about helping the unemployed get back to work, earn a paycheck, and support their families.”
