Converse police officer charged with DWI after car flips over in crash

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A Converse police officer is now facing a charge of DWI after a crash that flipped a car several times on San Antonio’s south side.

Police think 23-year-old Juston Alexander was drunk and behind the wheel when the car crashed into a ditch at Applewhite Rd. and S. Zamora St. on Friday night. According to witnesses, Alexander was veering in traffic before the car went into a ditch and flipped over. Investigators say Alexander wreaked of alcohol while telling law enforcement he was not the driver.

KSAT-TV reports nobody else was found in the area and that Alexander would not give his information to officers while also refusing a field sobriety test.

Alexander was arrested and charged with DWI.

The Converse Police Department is now conducting an internal investigation.
