Cornyn Remains Committed to Trump

Senator John Cornyn maintains his support of Donald Trump.

“I don’t think anybody confuses the Republican nominee with a traditional Republican,” Cornyn told reporters Friday.

And despite that and recent Trump statements and revelations, Senator Cornyn said Friday that he’s sticking with his announced support.

“I support the nominee of my party, who was not my first choice and was obviously not my second choice,” he said.

He said it’s more a matter of respect for the voters who voted for Mr. Trump and it’s also about the Supreme Court.

“And that’s not just for the next four years or eight years, that’s for the next 25 or 30 years in terms of the direction of the country,” he said.

And no matter who wins on November 8th, the sun will come up on November 9th, he said.
