CPS Energy Chief Financial Officer retires

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The chief financial officer of CPS Energy is stepping down.

Gary Gold has been with the utility since 2005 and on Tuesday company officials confirmed that he is retiring at the end of June.

Gold is both CFO and treasurer for the utility.

Cory Kuchinsky, one of CPS’s vice-presidents, will replace him as CFO.

He’ll have a tall order waiting for him when he assumes the office. CPS is still dealing with a billion dollars in bills that piled up as a result of February’s winter storm.

Kuchinsky has been with CPS for 15 years.
