Cyclist killed by speeding driver on San Antonio’s North side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A bicyclist riding near The Quarry has been killed.

At around 10:30 P.M. Tuesday, a woman was driving along Basse Road when according to witnesses, she lost control because she was speeding.

She went off the road and hit the cyclist before the vehicle rolled onto its side.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and a six month old baby in the car with her were rescued from the overturned vehicle and brought to University Hospital. Police say their injuries are not life threatening.

The identity of the cyclist has not been released.

The driver failed a sobriety test and has been charged with Intoxication Manslaughter and Endangering Child.
