Dairy Queen celebrates 75 years in Texas. Announces new summer treats

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — With temperatures expected to be well over 100 degrees this week, you will likely be looking for ways to cool off.

And just in time for the record breaking heat, Dairy Queen is coming out with some new summertime treats.

Five new blizzard flavors are waiting for you at your neighborhood DQ.

Nestlé® Drumstick Blizzard® Treat

Very Cherry Chip Blizzard® Treat

Caramel Fudge Cheesecake Blizzard® Treat

Dairy Queen opened its first location in Joliet, Illinois in 1940 and started dishing out soft serve in Texas 6 years later.

Texas is now the state with the most Dairy Queen locations with nearly 600.
