District 9 Runoff Pits Barros VS Courage

By Don Morgan

The last two candidates standing for the City Council District 9 seat are knocking on doors to gain support for the June 10th runoff.

It was a crowded field of 10 candidates in the May 6th election and the man who got the most votes that day is Marco Barros. He says he has years of experience working with members of Council on a number of projects over the years. He feels that experience gives him an inside view on how to get things done at City Hall.

The other candidate is John Courage. The long time schools teacher says he’s retiring from the classroom this year and will have plenty of time to serve constituents in the district. Courage tells us he has no personal agenda for getting elected and his support comes from the every day citizens who talk to him about their concerns.

Both candidates tell us they will be out walking the blocks of their neighborhood every day leading up to the June 10th runoff election.
