Domestic Violence Threat Increases as Temperatures Rise

One out of every 3 women in San Antonio will be affected by domestic violence and during the summer months, those risks increase.

Marta Prada Pelaez at Family Violence Prevention Services says the jump in domestic abuse cases can be credited to a few things. The hot temperatures, stress from the kids being around more often and drinking a lot of alcohol at summer parties.

She says they want to spread the word that women and children don’t have to be ashamed or live through abuse without getting help.

Family Violence Prevention Services has a 24 hour hotline at 210-733-8810.
