Trump calls Beto O’Rourke “dummy” in Wednesday morning tweet
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — He seems to attach a nickname to anybody chooses. Especially those who doesn’t see eye to eye with him.
Just ask “Sleepy Joe”, “Crooked Hilllary”, “Lyin’ Ted and “Fat Jerry”. Those are just some of the tags from President Trump we’ve seen on Twitter and heard during rallies.
Now President Trump has stuck Democratic Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke with one of his notorious monikers.
He sent out a tweet Wednesday morning in which he refers to the former Texas Congressman as “Dummy Beto” in response to O’Rourke’s stance on gun control issues.
Dummy Beto made it much harder to make a deal. Convinced many that Dems just want to take your guns away. Will continue forward! https://t.co/87jvaYUkyn

O’Rourke has been calling for mandatory buybacks of assault weapons since the deadly shooting in El Paso.
He event went as far as replying “hell, yes” when asked if he wanted to take away AR-15s and AK-47s.
O’Rouke did reply to the Trump tweet.
To be clear: We will buy back every single assault weapon.
We‘ll also license every gun & do a background check on every buyer. That’s what the American people want—and deserve.
The only thing stopping us from ending this epidemic is you & your cowardice. Do the right thing. https://t.co/lPqAv1r9ij

It’s not the first time Beto has been a recipient of the “Trump Twitter treatment”. Following last months shooting in El Paso, the President instructed O’Rourke to “respect the victims and law enforcement” and to “be quiet”.
President Trump is expected to present a package of gun control proposals this week but the timeline on that isn’t clear. He’s been in California for the past couple of days.
Beto O’Rourke took his campaign to California as well. He visited the Skid Row area of Los Angeles on Tuesday to talk about his 400 billion dollar plan to expand the nation’s low and moderate income housing projects.
