SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Federal drug agents arrested 31 people across south and central Texas early Tuesday morning.

The arrests come after a year-long investigation.

The Drug Enforcement Agency said most of the arrests were made on San Antonio’s East Side, though arrests were also made in Austin, Corpus Christi and McAllen.

Officials with the agency said these suspects are accused of dealing heroin and fentanyl.  On top of that, they are known gang members with violent histories.

The 31 suspects have not yet been identified and will be making initial federal court appearances later Tuesday and early Wednesday.
