SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A driver crashed through a fence and ended up in the field outside the KTSA studios early Thursday.

He veered off Eisenhauer Road, hit a utility pole and crashed through the fence just after 5 this morning. The car came to a stop just a couple of feet from a platform near one of the radio towers in the field.

The man was checked out by EMS and was not transported to a hospital. He told police he swerved to avoid hitting an animal on the road just before the crash.

Police blocked off Eastbound Eisenhauer Road between Harlow and Kingston as officers investigated the crash and CPS Energy crews worked on the utility pole and power lines.

The crash did not affect power in the area.
