Driver pulled from fiery head-on crash in Medina County

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man is alive after he was pulled from a burning car that erupted after a head-on crash in Medina County on Tuesday.

The collision happened around 1 p.m. on Potranco Road and FM 471 and the man rescued ended up trapped inside a car as it burned. Crews with Medina County Fire/EMS began cutting the car away from the man once they could see that he had survived the crash that mangled the car.

The man was flown to the hospital via air ambulance, but his current status is unknown.

In a post to Facebook, the organization says any delay in pulling the man out of the burning car would have resulted in his death.

A picture of the car was posted as a reminder to take caution when driving at high speeds on roads and highways.
