Drugs found in trunk following two car crash in South Texas

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A two car crash has resulted in a big drug bust in South Texas.

State Highway Patrol Troopers were called to the scene of the crash in an area just west of Rio Grande City.

When they arrived they discovered one of the vehicles was carrying 70 bundles of cocaine in the trunk.

The drugs weighed more than 180 pounds and have a street value of 3.3 million dollars.

The driver, who wasn’t at the scene was police arrived later turned himself in to the Starr County Sheriff’s Department.

He’s facing drug possession charges.
