Drunk driver slams into City of San Antonio municipal building

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A suspected drunk driver has been arrested after crashing into a building that houses the San Antonio City Council chambers.

Police say the 24-year-old man lost control of the 2015 Dodge Journey, jumped a curb and slammed into the west wall of the Municipal Plaza Building facing South Flores Street at West Commerce around 3 this morning.

The impact knocked a large 3′ x 6′ window out of its frame, leaving shattered glass all over the floor of the office.

The building was empty when the accident occurred, so there were no injuries.  The driver was booked on a charge of DWI.
