Early voting numbers in Bexar County down by 13%

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — With two days left in early voting ahead of the November midterm elections, numbers show voting in Bexar County is down by 13-percent when compared to the 2018 election cycle.
Elections Administrator Jacque Callanan says that figure was unexpected, given that voter registration in Bexar County is up by 11-percent.
“Notoriously, the last two days of early voting are the busiest. That’s when everybody decides to make their choices, on those last two days. So, we’re hoping that we’ll see a whole lot of numbers go up,” said Callanen.
By noon Wednesday, the Bexar County Elections Department had posted on Facebook 8,383 voters for the day, which had brought the county’s total to 253,283 since early voting started on October 24th.
Early voting continues through Friday.
The general election takes Tuesday, November 8.
